Underlying the compelling graphs, charts, tables and automatically generated reports in REMPLAN software is a wealth of region-specific industrial economic data. Regions are defined by single, or combinations of, local government areas. For any actual or hypothetical economic change in a region, REMPLAN users can assess the direct and flow-on implications across industry sectors in terms of employment, wages & salaries, output and Gross Regional Product for a region.

REMPLAN also provides comprehensive data in terms of supply chain linkages between industry sectors in a region. These linkages identify the key propulsive sectors in the regional economy. That is, the sectors with the greatest capacity to bring the rest of the regional economy along with it should they expand. This is valuable strategic data which is the starting point to identifying potential opportunities for import replacement and value-adding within the region.

These strategic, opportunity scoping applications of REMPLAN often necessitate the benchmarking of regional data against data for other similar regions, or the state, or the nation. Therefore data for many regions may be required. REMPLAN has been designed with this need in mind. REMPLAN subscribers have the option to access multiple REMFiles, each of which can be accessed at the push of a button as required. This represents increased flexibility, and significant cost savings for users requiring economic data for numerous defined regions.

Additionally, clients can now gain greater insights into the characteristics of their local economy via the optional analytical modules that operate in conjunction with REMPLAN. Three modules are currently available: Tourism, GAP (Import Replacement Scoping) and Workforce.
